All in the Family

Kymbotrse Mason out of Noxubee County caught the winning touchdown with under five seconds remaining in the 4A semifinals to keep his team alive. Saturday the Tigers will play in the State Championship game but if it were not for their 6-foot-2, 180-pound two-way standout they would be sitting at home.

Kymbotrse Mason is no stranger to the game of football. His father has been a long time assistant for the Tiger's staff. His first cousin, Pat Patterson, use to wear the same jersey number for Noxubee County and later starred at Ole Miss.

Mason lines up at cornerback and mostly receiver for the Tigers. The scene went a little something like this. Noxubee got the ball back on offense at midfield with just under 30 seconds remaining. They moved it to Lafayette's 40-yard line with a little under 10 seconds left. The quarterback scrambled to his right and put up a hail marry. Mason came down with it and the celebrating that occurred was something these eyes have not quite seen in some time. Party on.
