Stars shine bright in 6A championship game

Starkville defeated Petal 27-7 Friday to win the Class 5A state title. Yancy Porter and Sudu Upadhyau recap the Yellowjackets' win, as well discuss the standout players and more.

A.J. Brown dominated the first half of the contest with 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, while Starkville star defender Willie Gay, a linebacker, had a sack in the opening possession, forced a fumble and had an interception. Defensive lineman Kobe Jones played both ways and had an impact on the line of scrimmage throughout the game.

There were several more players for Starkville who stood out in the contest as well, as discussed in the above video. Also included are a few top plays in the game.
