D'Vaughn Pennamon
Manvel, TX
5-foot-11, 205
Committed to Ole Miss over offers from Arkansas, Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Ranking: No. 19 RB evaluation: Season Stats: 134 rushes for for 158 yards and 24 touchdowns. Pennamon is what we call a one cut North/South runner. He plays out of the spread and sometimes goes East and West to start but when he sees a hole it is one cut and straight up the field. He gets in and out of his break so fast and has the ability to get going full speed in a blink of an eye. This makes a back so tough to defend when you can make someone miss, have the power to break through a tackle and the speed to take it to the house.

The Ole Miss offense is predicated on having a tailback that can play in open spaces and this is exactly what the 4-Star tailback possesses. What Ole Miss' running back rotation has been missing is to have a player with size that can play in open spaces, make you miss, break a tackle and take it to the house. What is also noteworthy is that he had 25 receptions this season which shows he has experience catching the ball out of the backfield. This is another important ingredient for a tailback in Ole Miss' system.

D'Vaughn committed to Ole Miss this past summer but is taking his visits. He visited Arkansas last month and was scheduled to go to Cal this weekend. His last official visit will be to Ole Miss on the big recruiting weekend for the Rebels, January 29-31. Alabama offered him in the past few weeks and will be one to watch as well.
