Royce Newman out of Nashville, ILL., has become the focal point to close out the 2016 offensive line class. The 6-foot-7, 268-pound tackle was Nashville Comm leading receiver this season while manning the tight end position. He was also an impact player at defensive end and mans the middle for their hoop team. Newman has light feet and has the athleticism that the Rebels covet in their spring offense.

The All-State performer will have his family and coach with him on this trip. The longtime Missouri commit is scheduled to visit the Tigers next weekend. Can the Rebels close the deal this weekend? That will be the biggest story this weekend.

Quartney Davis likes to compare his game to Calvin Johnson and Jerry Rice. He's 6-foot-2, 180 and is a true 4.4 guy. Davis reminds me of a Quincy Adeboyjo with maybe a little more wiggle.

Texas A&M is considered the leader. They will get the last shot to host the national 100 prospect. He visited Oklahoma State last weekend and will be at Ole Miss this weekend.

Tre Nixon has been one of the fastest risers in Scout's recruiting rankings. He jumped nearly 200 spots to No. 86 in the latest rankings. Tre caught 74 passes for 1,224 yards and 18 touchdowns while helping Viera win the 7A State Championship in the state of Florida.

The 6-foot-1 slot receiver narrowed his choices down to Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn this week. He visited the Dawgs last weekend and will arrive at Ole Miss Saturday and return home Monday. Auburn gets the last crack. While the national media now has him trending towards Georgia my personal take is that Auburn and Ole Miss are out in front.

Ole Miss 4-Star RB commit Justin Connor rushed for 1, 640 yards and 17 touchdowns this season while helping his team to the 2nd round of the 3A playoffs. On defense the cornerback had 36 solo tackles and four interceptions. Last season the Dandy Dozen selection back had 153 carries for 1, 267 yards and 12 touchdown. He was named to the 1st Team (3A) All-State team by the MAC.

Connor has been selected to participate in the Offense/Defense All-American game on January 1st.

Tariqious Tisdale was named the Region 7(4A) Defensive Lineman of the Year after collecting 55 tackles and 12 sacks while playing defensive tackle. The 6-foot-5, 250 pounder also carried the ball 76 times for 743 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Scout.com's No. 35 rated offensive guard, Chandler Tuitt, helped Sandy Creek to the 2nd round of the 4A playoffs. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound tackle was named 1st Team All-State by the AJC after he recorded 72 pancakes in a 9-3 season. Tuitt has been selected to play in the Offense/Defense All-American game.
