The relationship between Jamar Richardson and Ole Miss has switched into 5th gear as of late.
"I went to the Nike Regional camp this spring," Richardson said. "They started contacting my coach right after that, and we have been talking every since."
An offer was extended from Ole Miss shortly after the Rebels came to watch him practice.
"They offered me at the end of March after watching me play. Coach (Jason Jones) said I have real good speed and the size they were looking for to play defensive back They think they can make a good player out of me."
The performance at the Ole Miss camp didn't hurt his stock.
"I ran a 4.45 on the laser and had a 39" vertical. I went against the top receivers their at their camp, and they told me they loved everything about my game."
Louisville, Missouri, Tulane, and several more D1 programs have offered as well.
"Things really started picking up for me after I went to these combines this spring. All of those schools said they love my speed and size for a corner."
This was Richardson's first visit to Oxford.
"I wanted to find out more about their coaches and community. It was my first trip there. It's a big family at Ole Miss. The coaches really care about their players, and the community is so beautiful in this area. It's all Ole Miss around there. You get a ton of support."
What stands out about the Rebels to this point?
"Their team is more like brothers. They are like family. Everyone really cares for each other there. That's why they are way up there on my list."
Any schools sticking out to this point?
"Louisville is really coming after me hard, but Ole Miss is at the top of my list. Missouri is coming after me real hard as well."
