Ole Miss seeks retribution against Memphis after an embarrassing loss in 2015

#16 Ole Miss takes on Memphis on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN 2.

Memphis shocked Ole Miss with a 37-24 upset in 2015. Led by quarterback Paxton Lynch, the Tigers put up over five hundred all-purpose yards and knocked the Rebels off their path for a college football playoff berth. A lot has changed for Memphis this year. The Tigers have a new quarterback in Riley Ferguson and a new head coach in Mike Norvell but, Memphis continues to be a force on offense. If Ole Miss doesn’t take this matchup seriously, the Tigers could be looking at another win over the Rebels.

Analysis and Prediction

While Hugh Freeze and his players will say this game doesn't have a revenge factor, it definitely does. Ole Miss was embarrassed by Memphis at the Liberty Bowl last season, and the Rebels are determined to win at home this year. While the Tigers are talented on offense they haven’t seen a team like Ole Miss yet. Riley Ferguson should have a pretty good day overall but Ole Miss wins this one big 48-23.
