"I'm taking my official visit to Ole Miss when they play Auburn (October 29th), Britt said. "I graduate in December so I'm taking my official visits this fall. I've also scheduled an official visit to Stanford next weekend and Auburn and Georgia. I haven't set up my the dates with Auburn and Georgia yet, but I'm taking visits to both of those schools."
The Ole Miss head coach, Hugh Freeze, went by K.J. Britt's school last week to scout the middle linebacker.
"They have been recruiting me hard. I have been building relationships with their coaches since they offered me last spring. I guess you can say that I have been taking them more seriously since they offered me. I went over there to see them play Alabama and it was even better than I was expecting."
Scout's No.19 rated middle linebacker expands on his trip to Oxford.
"It was just a great trip. My parents came with me. We all were very impressed with what they have to offer. It was a great game that Ole Miss could have won (against Alabama). They have a great team and a lot of good players. They just need to add some linebackers so it's a great opportunity for me. I enjoyed the atmosphere up there and just enjoyed being there. They have good people over there and coach Freeze is a great guy and someone that would be fun to be around the next four years. I really like coaches (Derrick) Nix and (Dave) Wommack too. I think they have a great staff."
The game between Ole Miss and Alabama showed K.J. there is a need for him.
"I guess what really stood out to me was the fact that so many coaches knew me and how many of them said they really needed me to come in and help them out next year. They are searching for linebackers. It's a position for need for them. That's big to me. Everybody wants to play as a freshman. That is something every player wants. It's big to know Ole Miss needs me. They are a really good program that continues to build. It's real big for me to know that there is a need for me."
What stands out about Stanford?
"Their education. I just like how elite they are in the academic fields. It could set me up for life."
"They have a good school and good people over there. It's also an opportunity for me to play early."
"Same thing. It's a great academic school that has a need for me."
What does K.J. do best at linebacker?
"I play downhill and run the fits. I attack the football and play smart. I'm a really intelligent football player."
