Allen threw six touchdowns and racked up 442 yards of passing against the Rebels last season. Allen has since graduated and moved on to the NFL, but there is a new Allen under center for the Razorbacks, his brother Austin. According to Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze the two are quite the same.
"I feel like I am watching the same guy," Freeze said. "I think they are extremely accurate, extremely tough, have a great understanding of defenses. The ball goes to the right spot, it’s accurate. Just a really good player.”
Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly couldn't agree more with Freeze.
"I think they're about the same player," Kelly said. "They both make good decisions, they're athletic, they can make plays and they can throw it."
Austin Allen has already thrown for 1,632 yards this season with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Allen and the Razorbacks will look for a bounce-back win at home against Ole Miss this week after a 49-30 week six loss against Alabama.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
