#23 Ole Miss looks to bounce back after a tough loss to Arkansas against #25 LSU in Death Valley

Ole Miss travels to Baton Rouge to face SEC West rival LSU on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Ole Miss’ season has not gone the way the Rebels planned. Ole Miss currently sits at 3-3 and 1-2 in the SEC. The Rebels' SEC title hopes are a far reach and the College Football Playoff is completely out of the discussion at the moment. LSU, on the other hand, is trending up after a rough start to the 2016 season. Since taking over in week five, interim head coach Ed Orgeron has led the Tigers to two straight wins in which LSU's offense showed signs of improvement from the beginning of the season. The Tigers defense continues to be one of the top groups in the country. Despite the two straight wins Orgeron's toughest challenge yet will be facing the first school to give him a head coaching job, Ole Miss.

Analysis and Prediction

This series has been tied since 2012 with LSU winning in 2012 and 2014. Ole miss won in 2015 and 2013. The key has been home field advantage. Based on recent history it's safe to say the home team has the advantage in this series. Death Valley is a tough environment to play in, and on top of that, the Tigers are going to have extra motivation as Ed Orgeron faces his old team. This game should stay fairly low scoring. Chad Kelly and the Rebels will keep up for most of the game and maybe even hold a lead. In the end, however, LSU's improved offense will come up with a big play against Ole Miss' struggling defense to win 33-31.
