Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze praised the Rebels kicker Gary Wunderlich at his weekly press conference on Monday

Ole Miss kicker Gary Wunderlich has been fairly consistent throughout his Rebels career. Since seeing his first collegiate action in 2014, Wunderlich has steadily improved in his time at Ole Miss.

The Memphis, Tenn. native finished the 2014 season with a field goal percentage of 75, he improved to 76 percent in 2015 but 2016 has been his best season yet. Through eight games this season, Wunderlich has made 13 out of 14 field goal attempts and is currently tied for fifth in the country for field goal percentage with 92.9.

Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze praised his kicker's successful season on Monday at his weekly press conference.

"He's worked hard at it," Freeze said. "I think he has always been a talent. Just the maturity.

Gary started doing it early in his career here and I think he has just gotten more confidence and become accustomed to the pressure of that job. He is doing it very well right now."

Wunderlich and the Rebels are looking for their first win since early October on Saturday against Georgia Southern. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
