DE Markel Winters nd Jones CC defeated Gulf Coast CC last Thursday by a score of 28-14 to push their record to 6-3. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive end had two more sacks to push his season total to 16 sacks. Through nine games Markel now has 21 tackles, 16 sacks, 5.5 tackles for a loss, a defensive touchdown and a pass deflection. The Tallahassee native is now second in the country in sacks and is expected to graduate in December with 3 1/2 to play 2. Markel attended the Ole Miss/Auburn game last week.

 

 

 

Javien "Jay" Hamilton had another solid effort for Jones CC last night. He totaled six tackles, had a pick that was called back by a penalty and forced a fumble in their 28-14 win over MS Gulf Coast CC. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback has 27 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and two pass deflections this season. He is expected to to graduate in December with 3 1/2 to play 2. Javien attended the Ole Miss/Auburn game last week.

 

 

Jay Johnson helped East MS CC to a 42-0 win over Hinds CC to push their record to 8-1. The redshirt freshman collected four tackle in the game while playing defensive end. Through nine games the former Ole Miss signee has 21 tackles, three sacks, five and half tackles for a loss and two pass breakups. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder signed with Ole Miss before enrolling with East Mississippi CC in the spring of 2015. Jay is expected to graduate in December with 41/2 to play 3.

 

 

Alex Faniel was 10 -14 for 150 yards/TDand rushed for another 60 yards/TD . The 6-foot-6, 225-pound signal caller has 1,1357 passing yards and twelve touchdowns through seven games of action. He also has 537 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Alex is on track to graduate in December with 5 1/2 to play. Alex is playing in the Hawaii Bowl.

 

D.D. Bowie led Morton to a thrilling 47-46 double overtime win over Raleigh last Friday for their sixth straight win. Scout's No. 94 overall rated player had 33 rushes for 161 yards and four touchdowns. He was 3-5 passing for 82 yards and two touchdowns Bowie has 181 carries for 2,011 yards and 40 total touchdowns. The Army All-American has totaled over 2,600 yards of offense through eleven games. In four games of action on defense he has 13 tackles, two interceptions, a sack, four pass deflections, two blocked field goals and a blocked punt.

 

 

Josh Clarke had 10 tackles in last Friday's 43-14 loss to Belle Chasse. Riverdale is now 2-8 on the season. Through ten games the 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker has 108 tackles with eight of them coming for a loss, six sacks, a pick and three forced fumbles. Josh has been selected to the International All-Star game.

 

 

 

 

A.J. Harris and Bob Jones had a bye last week. Through eight games Harris has 68 tackles, three interceptions and seven pass breakups. Offensively the 6-foot-0, 190-pounder has over 600 yards from the line of scrimmage. Bob Jones faces Hoover in the first round of the playoffs Friday.

 

 

 

 

Jamar Richardson and Aliceville ran their record to 10-1 last week with a 42-41 win over Hillcrest. The 6-foot-0, 170-pound two-way player for Aliceville (Ala) had five rushes for 62 yards and a touchdown He also caught a pass for a 14 yard score and had two tackles on defense. Through nine games of action he now has has 596 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense he has collected 13 tackles and a pick.

 

 

 

Ben Brown and Lavante Epson continue to start on both the offensive and defensive line. Ben is projected as a guard and Epson as a center on the next level. Both are expected to be in attendance this weekend. Ben also attended the season opener.
