Playoffs well ender way

The season has come to an end for several of the Ole Miss commits but others are still fighting for that State Championship.

Javien "Jay" Hamilton helped Jones CC to a 6-3 record this season. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback finished with 27 tackles, three for a loss, one interception, two forced fumbles and two pass deflections this season. He is expected to to graduate in December with 3 1/2 to play 2. Javien will take his official visit to Ole Miss on the December 12th weekend.



Jay Johnson has helped East MS CC to 9-1 record and a bowl berth. The redshirt freshman and former Ole Miss signee has 30 tackles, five sacks, eight tackles for a loss and two pass breakups. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is expected to graduate in December with 41/2 to play 3.



Alex Faniel participated in seven games this fall. He missed three games due to an ankle injury. For the season the 6-foot-4, 240-pound signal caller was 72-119 for 1,475 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also chipped in 407 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 46 attempts. Faniel is on track to graduate in December with 5 1/2 to play. Alex is playing in the Hawaii Bowl.


D.D. Bowie was upset by S' East Lauderdale 49-42 last week in the playoffs. In the game the Ole Miss commit had 228 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Army All-American finished with 2,239 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns. He totaled 2,933 yards of offense. On defense he had 13 tackles, one sack, twp blocked field goals and an interception in limited time. D.D. averaged over 35 yards per kickoff in special teams. Bowie was recently named Mr. Football in Class 3A for the state of Mississippi.



Josh Clarke fished with 118 tackles, ten for a loss, six sacks, a pick and three forced fumbles for the season. Josh has been selected to the International All-Star game.





A.J. Harris finished the season with 73 tackles, four interceptions and eight pass breakups. Offensively the 6-foot-0, 190-pounder has over 600 yards from the line of scrimmage.





Jamar Richardson put Aliceville on its back in the second round of the playoffs last Friday. He scored four touchdowns including the game winner for a 36-33 win. They square off tonight in the State Semifinals. The 6-foot-0, 170-pound two-way player carried the ball five times for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He caught two passes for another 71 yards and two touchdowns. In nine games of action he has totaled 873 yards of offense and 12 touchdowns. In limited time on defense he has 13 tackles, one interception and two passes defended.




Ben Brown was a two-way starter for St. Aloysius this year. Their season ended last Friday in their 1st round loss to Heritage Aca. The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder started all twelve games at left tackle and defensive tackle. He finished the year with 37 tackles with a sack and fumble recovery.





Lavante Epson has helped Washington School to a 6-5 record. They face Amite (La) tonight in the 1st round of the playoffs. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder has 31 tackles and two sacks on the season. He starts at both left tackle and defensive tackle.
