Ole Miss will host Rebel legacy Tyrese Fryfogle for an official visit next weekend

Ole Miss will host Rebel legacy Tyrese Fryfogle for an official visit next weekend, a talented player the Rebels hope to add to their already-strong collection of wide receivers.

The Player: Tyrese Fryfogle is the son of former Ole Miss wide receiver Trey Fryfogle. Tyrese Fryfogle, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver, hails from Lucedale, Miss., where he set school records in catches (89) and receiving yards (1,430 yards) as a senior for George County High School. Fryfogle, a Sun Herald All-Coast selection, also finished with 13 touchdowns, which followed a junior season that saw Fryfogle total 52 catches, 919 yards and eight touchdowns. He posted a 4.58 40-yard dash, a 38.5 vertical jump and a 10.4 broad jump at an Ole Miss summer camp in June.

Recruiting: A member of the recruiting class of 2017, Fryfogle holds offers from Ole Miss, Indiana and Idaho, though Mississippi State, South Carolina and Southern Miss have showed interest as well. He took an official visit to Indiana last weekend.

The Hoosiers are aided by the presence of former Ole Miss wide receivers coach Grant Heard, who now holds the same position on former Ole Miss linebackers coach Tom Allen’s staff at Indiana. Allen replaced Kevin Wilson as Hoosier head coach in December. Fryfogle will visit Ole Miss next weekend. He picked up a Rebel offer in July, which he called “a dream come true for me.” “We bleed red and blue,” Fryfogle said at the time. “It means the world to me, really.”

Quotable: “My dad went there, and it's just been around my family the whole time. I've been to a lot of their games. I like how they get the ball to their receivers and play a lot of their young receivers. They like to throw it around a lot.” — Tyrese Fryfogle, on Ole Miss
