Three-star safety Kam White announced for Ole Miss on National Signing Day

Clinton, Miss., Kam White announced for Ole Miss on National Signing Day. What are the Rebels getting in the three-star safety?

White is a big athlete. He is strong, has the frame to add more weight, and he plays tough and is versatile. He is a 6-foot-2 athlete who plays both sides of the ball in high school, and at one time, it looked like he would be a wide receiver in college. But over the past 18 months, he looks best at safety. He has a great frame and very strong hands. His ball skills are a strength whichever position he ends up at. He has physical toughness about him and it shows on offense and defense. At safety, he has shown the ability to play the alley, come up and support the run, and to make a play on the ball. He has good range with his size. His speed is good, not elite, but he can cover a lot of ground. Scout leans towards safety as his future position, but with his frame and skill set, wide receiver, H-back or even linebacker are not out of the realm of possibility. —
