Ole Miss made a move with latest visit

Glenn Beal out of River Ridge, LA., brought his family with him to the Ole Miss spring game last weekend. How did the visit go?

"It was really nice up there," Beal said. "I liked it a lot. They are definitely an option for me now."

The trip was the first for the Beal family to the Oxford campus.

"My parents liked it as well. It's quiet and not a lot of trouble going on around you. They have a really good environment around their campus. My parents were impressed."

The trip was planned so he could find out a couple things about Ole Miss.

"I wanted to find out what was going on with their program and how they use their tight ends. They use their tight ends a lot. They put them in the backfield and flex them out. That's why they are one of my options. That and I also like their coaches. They feel like family. They talked to me like like they talk to their players. They are straight up with you. Some coaches try and tell you anything you want to hear to get you to their school, but they are straight forward and honest."

The 6-foot-4, 25-pound tight end doesn't have a top list but he has taken in a few recent unofficial visits.

"I went to Alabama and Ole Miss. I'm probably going down to Miami this weekend, and I plan on going to UCLA this summer."

"I like Alabama. I'm real cool with coach Burns. That's my guy right there. Coach Burns is from my area. I have a real good connection with him."

"I want to take a trip to Miami because they are hard up recruiting me. I want to see what they have to offer."

"UCLA was one of my favorite schools growing up. I have been to Cali before, and I really like it out there. I also have a former teammate, Kenny Young, who plays for them now."

What about the home state school, LSU?

"I still have to see how their offense is going to work because they have a new offensive coordinator. I'm not trying to be just a blocker. I want to do other things than block."

The 4-Star tight is no hurry to make a decision.

"I'm not rushing things right now. I'll probably let it play out until after my season is over. I want to take it slow."
