"Coach (Derrick) Nix and I have a good relationship," Provens said. "We started talking during my junior season. He recruits this area for Ole Miss, and he's also the running back coach. Coach Nix has told me so many good things about their program. He loves Ole Miss and so do I."
Tae took in his first trip to Oxford in March.
"Oh yea, I had already heard a lot of good things about Ole Miss from friends who had been over there. Everything I had heard was true and some. I like the vibe I get when I'm on their campus."
Coach Nix continues to be a mainstay for Ole Miss with Tae.
"He's just a great guy. He's devoted around his family with everything that he does. They have a family atmosphere over there at Ole Miss. All of the coaches and players get along so well. You can tell that it is a tight niche group."
One of the things that the Rebels bring to the table is an opportunity to play early.
"I know about the whole Cam Akers deal. I know they need someone to step up with Jordan Wilkins leaving. If you look it, other colleges have a lot of good running backs on their depth chart and Ole Miss has very little. I could really come in there and make an impact on the team, I feel like."
What stands out the most about Ole Miss?
"I just like the coaches. We talk all the time. Facetime all the time. I just really like their staff and what they stand for."
Who else is really in the picture?
"I like LSU. I like Auburn. Of course I like Ole Miss. Tennessee too. Every school is unique in it's own way."
What stands out about LSU?
"I would say their running backs. The running backs they have had over the years. The running back coach they have right now, Tommy Robinson, and Coach O."
What about Auburn?
"I really like coaches Jordan and (Chip) Lindsey. Coach Jordan has been recruiting me since I was a freshman so we have a really good relationship. And you know coach Lindsey is from our side of town so you know that's even better."
Is there any pull to stay home in the state of Alabama?
"Not at all. My parents are leaving it up to me to make that decision."
