K.D. Hill collected 54 tackles as a junior at Eufaula high school. He has collected offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Vandy, Wake Forest and several more P5 schools. The interest with the Ole Miss Rebels began to increase shortly after signing day.
"They offered me in March," Hill said. "We have been talking every since. I started looking at their campus on utube and started watching their practices. I loved how physical their defense plays."
The visit to Ole Miss was better than he anticipated.
"It was absolutely amazing," Hill said about the Ole Miss visit. "I loved everything about it. It felt like family. I love how they always talk about God and faith. I'm a very spiritual person and so is my family."
Hill's grandparents and mother accompanied him on the trip.
"They really connected with their coaching staff. They loved the atmosphere there."
What stood out about Ole Miss?
"I like how physical their defense plays. I love that. You have to be very physical in the game of football. I really liked their facilities too. It's all brand new and right there together. It's easy to get in and out on a day-to-day basis."
The Ole Miss staff sat his family down and explained what they liked about K.D.
"They like how physical I play. They told me I have an explosive first step. They told me that I have very strong hands and come to play each day."
Was the depth chart discussed?
"I saw them practice. I looked around and saw a lot of very physical linemen there. I don't even look at the depth charts because this is the SEC. There are going to be great players everywhere. You have to earn your job. Nothing is going to be given to you no matter what the coaches tell you while you are being recruited."
Which schools has K.D. visited so far during the recruiting process?
"Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama and Georgia Tech."
"Auburn treated my mother well. They treated my family well. I love the environment at Auburn."
"Georgia Tech stress academics all the time. Academics is a key."
"I love Alabama's campus and their facilities are nice. They compete in the SEC every year."
Anymore future visits on tap?
"I'm coming back to Auburn and Ole Miss this summer for sure. Other than that; I don't know yet."
