Allen Love out of Birmingham, Ala., has been a hot ticket this spring. The 285-pound defensive tackle was offered by Ole Miss recently.

"Coach (Freddie) Roach came to one of my practices," Love said. "He told me before he came to my practice that he wanted to see me do some agility drills before he offered. Coach Roach said if I did them the way he wanted I would get an offer. I guess I did them correctly because he offered me that night. He told me that he likes the way I play and loves my motor on film and in practices. Coach (Roach) said he wants me to be a Rebel and offered me."

The offer is one he has been waiting for.

"I was really excited because it's the offer I've been waiting for since I was in 9th grade. I grew up watching Robert Nkemdiche and all those guys. I love how aggressive they play on defense. I'm from Alabama and not too many people can beat Alabama. They have beat them twice the last few years. I think coach Freeze is a great coach. I think they are going to keep pushing Alabama and have a chance to do a lot of damage. They are a great SEC team. Coach Freeze took a chance on me, and I'm going to show them they made the right decision."

Who are the main schools involved right now?

"Memphis, Ole Miss, Louisville, Alabama and I would say Illinois."

Alabama has not offered but that could change in the future.

"They came to my practice Friday. They want to see me take it to a whole different level. Coach Key is my main recruiter. He told me when I came to their camp, if I handle business, I'll get an offer. We talk on the phone pretty much everyday. I just have to get down there to their camp."

Memphis is showing up more and more on top prospect's list.

"They show me a lot of love. I went up there for a visit. I love their staff and defensive scheme. They talk to me a few times a week. I love everything about Memphis, from their coaches to how close it is to home. I just love the love they give me."

Louisville has been showing the love as well.

"I love coaches Scott and Petrino. Those are my favorite coaches. I like their base defense and the schemes they use to help you get off of the ball. Coach Scott is young and knows where I'm coming from. We have a great connection."

Any visits on tap?

I'm going to Ole Miss on June 2nd for their Elite camp. I'm coming back in July with my family to getter a better look at everything. I'm going to Alabama in June and July too. I'll travel up to Louisville, Memphis and Kentucky too. They want to get me up there."

A decision date has been set.

"It will be July 22nd on my birthday. I'll get in all of these visits this summer and make a decision."
