"I just wanted to go down there (to Ole Miss) and put in a good resume for me," Gatlin said about the Ole Miss camp. "I think the coaches really liked what I showed them today. I didn't get an offer, but I think he saw that I played fast and really got after it. They just want to see me play a little bit lower."
Ole Miss has been in talks with the All-State selection for a couple months now.
"I talk to coach (Matt) Luke quite often. He's been in contact with me since early spring. He likes the physicality level that I play. Also for me size, he likes the way I can move."
Noah got to get a better view of the Rebels during the camp.
"I got to learn what kind of people they are and the way they like to coach. I wanted to see if that fits the way I want to play. I thought it was a really good fit for me. I think coach Luke is a heck of a coach, and I like his coaching style."
Oxford is just an hour and half from Jonesboro, Ark. Is distance a factor?
"No sir. I mean, it would be nice if I could, but I'm really not concerned about it. I'm going to pick the best school for me."
Gatlin holds over 15 D1 offers including the likes of Arizona State, Indiana, Iowa State, Memphis, MSU, Texas Tech, Virginia and several more. Which schools out of that list are coming after him the hardest?
"The main few schools right now have done a great job of recruiting me, and keeping tabs with m,e and trying to get me to come over there for a visit. Those schools are Arizona State, Indiana, Texas Tech, Virginia, and Mississippi State. They have done a really good job. I've really enjoyed getting to meet them and building a relationship with those schools."
Which schools has Noah visited off of that list?
"I've visited Virginia and Indiana. Those are the two schools I've had my eye on all along."
"Virginia was great. Their OL coach did a great job showing me around. I really liked him, and the way he coached. I got a chance to go to their spring game. It was fun just getting to watch them get after it a little bit."
"Indiana was nice. Their OL coach was really nice. It was good to meet him. He's originally from Jonesboro so we have that in common. It was really nice getting to meet him. We talk all the time."
Gatlin grew up an Arkansas fan but an offer has not been extended.
"They would like to see me in camp. They really love me, but they want to see how I perform. I think right now they want to see me come off of the ball a little bit better than I have. I need to play a little bit lower than I have. That's really my main focus this offseason."
