Offensive linemen are the key to any successful offense and it starts in the recruiting process. In particular, the center position has become one of the most critical positions on the field due to the demands of the position. The center makes the calls for the blocking assignments as defensive linemen shift before the snap of the football. Consequently, a heady center can give an offense an advantage before a play even begins. Finding one is not easy but the Rebels staff is looking around
Robby D'Angelo, a 6-foot-3, 285-pounder from Harrison Central High School in Gulfport, Mississippi, is high on the recruiting board of the Rebels. The interest is mutual as D'Angelo has set an official visit to Oxford.
"Ole Miss has offered me a scholarship and I have set a visit for January 11th," said D'Angelo. "I have also set a visit to Tulane for December 7th. Tulane has also offered me a scholarship. Louisiana-Lafayette, Southern Miss, Rice, Memphis, Kentucky, and Oklahoma State are the other schools that have offered and I am open to all of them."
D'Angelo attended summer football camps at Louisiana State, Tulane, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, and Auburn. Additionally, he has taken unofficial visits to Florida and Kentucky. D'Angelo has also attended football games at Louisiana State and Southern Miss.
