Isaiah Thomas of Bruce High School in Bruce, MS is a huge linebacker in high school that projects as a defensive lineman in college. At 6-2 and 261 pounds at middle linebacker, he is very similar to Curtis Dawson who starred at Hoover High School in Alabama last year. He may be the next Levon Kirkland, but more than likely he plays with his hand down on the next level. His first love is linebacker though.
"I try and compare my game to Ray Lewis," said Thomas. "The man
is just a monster on the field. I got hurt in third game of the season this
year. I broke my ankle, but I had 34 tackles and a sack before that."
Thomas is hearing from schools across the south, and he is already focusing on
"Ole Miss was my favorite team growing up. Right now I like LSU, Ole Miss,
Alabama, Southern Miss, and Arkansas. I've also been getting letters from teams
like West Virginia, Southern Miss, and Mississippi State. I went to Ole
Miss/Mississippi State and Southern Miss/Alcorn State for games last year."
The Thomas family is no stranger to star athletes. Thomas' brother Fred Thomas
plays for the New Orleans Saints, but as a corner. The younger Thomas is
Thomas shouldn't have any trouble qualifying; he is a solid student athlete.
