The following information was revealed during our interview with Mr. Lawhorn:
Rumor has it that you might have committed to the University of Mississippi, is this true?
When did you commit?
Who did you inform?
"I talked to Coach Woods first and then Coach Cutcliffe."
What was Coach Woods' reaction?
"He was really excited. Coach Woods said it was a good opportunity because two of their wide receiver signees failed to qualify. He said it was a good time to be an incoming wide receiver at Ole Miss.
What did Coach Cutcliffe tell you?
"He was also really Pleased because I was their first wide receiver to be offered. He just said that he was looking forward to me catching a lot of balls for him. And now since I am a Rebel, he wants me to get some of my friends, Justin Sparks and Big Mike (Michael Oher) to commit. I am really good friends with Justin and Michael. I use to go to school with them, and we hang out on the weekends."
What are Ole Miss' chances to land them?
"I have no idea, but I would love for them to come (laugh). That would be awesome. They are not giving out any hints, and i do not know where they are leaning, but hopefully they will be a Rebel."
Any more prospects on the recruit list?
"Coach Cutcliffe did not mention any names, but I know the ones in my area who have been offered. He did not say anyone specific, I just knew he wanted those two real bad."
Did you get a chance to attend any more camps after you were named MVP of the WR's at the Virginia camp?
"No sir, I went on vacation, and I knew from the beginning I was going to go to Ole Miss. And when I did go to the other camp, it just made me like Ole Miss that much more."
Who would you say came in second place for your services?
"I would say Virginia, but I was also looking at Missouri and N.C. State too. They were all recruiting me real hard."
Why did you pick Ole Miss?
"Well, first of all, I have been a fan since as long as I can remember. My mom and dad went there. My brother is a sophomore at Ole Miss right now. I am a die hard Rebel fan. Even if I were not playing football, I would go there. And once I got to Know their coaching staff, that made me like them even more."
Will you take your official visits?
"I mean, I do not even care about them. I have not even thought about it, to be honest. I would probably just visit Ole Miss because I would not want their coaches to worry about me or the fans to get mad. But really, I have no Idea."
How does it feel to get your decision over with?
"Just relieved. Already knowing that I have not started my senior year, and the process is already over with. That feels great. Now I can just concentrate on my senior year. Plus, it feels great to be a Rebel."
