Brad Bradshaw, Bastrop's head coach, took Green and Rogers Loche (LB) on an unofficial visit to Ole Miss last week. We called to see how Marshay's visit went.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Mr. Green:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 5' 10", 170, and I run a sub 4.5 forty."

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Mostly tailback."

What makes you a good ball carrier? "I would have to say my teammates."

Individually, what are your strengths? "I mean, I think my strength is my quickness."

What are you working on to make yourself a better player? "My weight. I need to weigh more. And my strength. I need to get stronger. Weight, strength, and speed. In that order."

How long have you been starting at Bastrop? "Well, every since the 9th grade. Me and Jeremy Doty have been spitting time. He is a grade ahead of me, but we both have been starting since our freshman seasons."

What was Bastrop's record last season? "We were 12 - 1. We got beat in the Quarterfinals again. We did last year too."

What were your stats for the season? "I had 29 TD's, and I had 1, 904 rushing yards. I believe I had 171 carries for the year."

Did you garner any awards? "I made 1st Team All-State, Class 4A MVP, and I was the Offensive Player of the Year in our District."

Are you not in the running for the national scoring record? "Yes sir, I think it is for career rushing TD's, but I am not real sure, I am just trying to do it."

How many rushing TD's do you have for your career? "I think 68."

Which schools seem to be the most serious with you? "Well, I do not know for sure yet. I know I have been receiving some letters, and I have visited Ole Miss."

Who all is writing you? "All of the SEC schools and some others like Michigan, Colorado, UCLA, USC, just a bunch of them."

How did your visit to Ole Miss go? "It went pretty good. I liked it down there a whole lot. I could really see myself there next year."

Why could you see yourself at Ole Miss next year? "Well, first of all, it was a small town. The town is all about sports. Right there, that attracted me a lot."

Is Oxford comparable to Bastrop? "It is really bigger than Bastrop, but just by a little. So, it kind of felt like home to me. They remind me a lot of each other for some reason."

Who accompanied you on your trip? "My head coach brought me and Rogers Loche (LB) over there."

What else did you learn about Ole Miss during your trip? "I learned, well really, they are really serious about their football."

What all did you do while you were on your visit at Ole Miss? "I mean really, we just met with their head coach. We all walked around and looked at their facilities and talked to some academic people."

Has OIe Miss offered you yet? "Not yet, no sir."

Which schools have caught your eye up to this point? "I would have to say Ole Miss and LSU. I like Coaches Hopson and Cutcliffe at Ole Miss, and I also like Coach Saban a lot. Really, those are the only two schools I am even looking at."

What will you look for when you are trying to find the right school for you? "Well, first of all, I will try to see which position I am going to play. Secondly, I will look at how close they are from home."

How far of a drive was it from Bastrop to Oxford? "Like 3 hours."

Are you being recruited to play other positions besides running back? "I think so, but I do not know for sure."

Which positions? "Flanker or slot or cornerback probably, but I ain't for sure."

Which position do you prefer to play? "Running back, for sure."

Marcus carries a 2.9 GPA and is waiting on his latest ACT results.
