What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2", 261. My fastest time was a 4.69, but you can put a 4.7, I guess."

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Linebacker."

What do you consider to be your strengths on the field? "Just my smarts, basically. I know how to read plays. Read and react, basically. Just playing football. Knowing what is going to happen before it happens."

What do you need to work on to take your game to the next level? "I would like to try and get a little faster, I guess. I need to drop a couple, like 15 pounds."

Do you think LB is the best suited position for you? "Not at the size I am at now. That is why I need to drop a couple of pounds. I do not think I would do too good on the line."

Why? "I have tried it a couple of times in high school, but it never faired too well. I played some at defensive end."

How long have you been starting for Bruce? "Since the 8th grade."

All at LB? "Yes sir."

What was Bruce's record last season? "We went 10-2. We lost to Greenville O' Bannon in the 2nd round."

How did your season go? "Well, I broke my ankle in the 3rd game against Ripley. Someone slid from underneath, and my knee planted. When I fell, my ankle popped."

How far back are you? "I would say around 80 to 85 percent."

Have you received any awards in your high school career? "I was voted Best LB my 9th and 10th grade years. In 10th grade, I made the Super 20 Team. I was also selected as one of the Top 10 juniors going into last year."

Which colleges are currently showing you the most interest? "Ole Miss. MSU, let me look at some of the letters. West Virginia and Tennessee too. Those are the ones that are sending me the most letters."

Any early offers? "No sir."

Which schools have caught your eye? "Ole Miss and MSU. Those are the only ones I have been to and actually been around their coaches. They seem to be the closest."

From home? "Yes sir."

Been to any Junior Days? "I went to Ole Miss'. I was suppose to go to Memphis' but it was on the same day. I had to miss it. I got one coming up too."

Where? "MSU."

When? "Next Saturday."

You said you have gotten to know the staffs at UM and MSU. When did you meet the new MSU staff? "Well, I have not actually met them in person yet, but I have talked with Coach Croom."

Where? "On the phone."

Have you spoken to anymore colleges by way of phone? "I talk to some of the Ole Miss coaches. I have some of their cell (phone) numbers."

Has any staff or coach made a big impression with you yet? " I like the coaches up at Ole Miss mainly. I got to sit and talk with them at their Junior Day. I got to know them and they got to know me.."

What did you learn about Ole Miss during their Junior Day? "We talked over defensive formations and things like that. We talked about what it takes to be successful. They said that education comes first. I need that. They also talked about the benefits that comes from being a football player at Ole Miss. Just all of that stuff."

What stood out the most about Ole Miss during your trip? "The position meeting. I talked to their LB coach. He said that I was the size they were looking for at linebacker. He told me that they have a starting LB who is at 274. I took that as an advantage for me."

What are you looking for when you are trying to find the right fit? "Just like a good supportive atmosphere, mainly. And an opportunity to get a good education, you know."

Thomas scored a 16 on the ACT test in the 7th grade. Isaiah has not received his accumulative GPA, but he should in short time.
