The following information was revealed during our interview with Mr. Pack:
Tell us what you reported in at, height and weight? "I came in at, like 6' 0", from their count. But, I think I am a little taller than that. In July, I came in at 210, but yesterday they weighed me in at 216."
Compare your strength from the end of your high school season to where you are now? "I have not really maxed in a while. I am not the same as last year, I am probably a little bit stronger. I know I feel a lot stronger."
What were you maxing out at the last time you tested yourself? "Around 415."
When did you report to Ole Miss? "At the end of June."
During the voluntary workouts; what were the biggest differences you noticed from high school to this level? "The biggest difference is, from high school to here, you do more reps and stuff. And the players here are a lot bigger and faster. You always here that in high school, but you really do not believe it until you are in the middle of it."
What are your personal goals for this upcoming season? "I just want to help the team out to the best of my ability, if I do happen to play. I really have not set any personal goals, like stats or anything, all of mine are team goals."
Have you spoken with the staff about the chances of you playing this year? "Yes sir, we have talked about it. They feel like if I come in and do what I am suppose to do, I will have a good chance to play this year."
What are your team goals this year? "Everybody wants to win the national championship. I really want us to try and go undefeated and win the SEC. I have a lot of high goals, really."
What are your expectations for your first practice tonight? "I am looking forward to it being kind of rough, since it will be a first for me and all of us new guys. It will probably be a little bit confusing, fast, and frustrating. But, I know that is just the way it is, so I will not let it get to me."
Which game do you most look forward to this year? "All of them, really. I am just ready to get it on."
Who are some prospects off of your old high school team (Oak Grove) who have a chance to make it on this level? "We have an offensive lineman who is going to Arkansas State. I am looking forwarded to seeing how he does. Our starting QB and Zach Harrington. Terrell Walters (WR), and just a lot of them."
Do you feel any pressure being the #1 recruit out of Mississippi? "None at all. I mean, I put way more pressure on myself than anyone else. As long as I give it my all, I will be OK."
How does it feel to be teammates with the guys you have been competing against your whole high school career? "I did not like it at first, but I mean, we are learning to get use to it. You have to let the past be the past."
Which player or players that you competed against have you formed the tightest bond with? "Them South Panola boys. You know, Reterio Brown and Jamarca Sanford. They straight (laugh)."
Lastly question, who is going to win the Hattiesburg vs Oak Grove game this year? "Oak Grove (laugh). We are not letting your boys get us this year. There is no way (laugh)."
I thought Oak Grove is losing you? "That does not mean anything. We still have a better team than your boys (laugh)."
