Marcus Green (RB, Bastrop, LA) - Marcus "Marshay" Green is just 13 rushing TD's shy of the national record entering his senior season. For his career, Marcus has 68 rushing touchdowns. The national record sits at 81.

But the recruiting fans are more interested in which college team Marshay will help than anything else. The following information was revealed during our interview with Marcus Green:

Where did you get a chance to camp at this summer? "I went to Texas A&M, LSU, and Ole Miss."

Which camp did you feel the most at "home"? "Honestly, all of them."

Back in May, which schools placed a phone call to you? "A bunch of them did. Lets see, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Arizona State, South Carolina, Florida, UCLA, and that is all that I can remember."

Who called first? "I think Arkansas called me first. Arkansas Razorbacks, I think."

Which coach have you developed the tightest bond with? "I would have to say Coach Jay Hopson. He is from Ole Miss."

Have you received any scholarship offers yet? "Yes sir, quite a few. I received one from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Arizona State, and Michigan State. Oh yea, Auburn offered me too."

Word had it that Florida, South Carolina, and Nebraska are after you hard; is this not true? "I have been talking to South Carolina a lot. They came to one of my practices back in the Spring. I have also been talking to UCLA. They sent a coach to our practice too. We are talking real serious, but an offer has not been made yet. Now Nebraska, I am talking to them on the phone closely, and I think they are about to offer me, but nothing has happened yet."

Which schools have caught your eye so far? "Well really, I do not know, because I want to stay open. I just do not know yet. Around two months from now, I will kind of have a clue."

Have you scheduled any visits for the fall? "No sir, not so far."

If you were to schedule your official visits right now, where would you start? "I would say Arkansas and Ole Miss so far. The other three, I am not sure."

Will the commitment from your teammate, Rogers Loche to Ole Miss, will that have any influence in your decision? "Yes sir, I mean, I have been playing ball with him ever since we were in the 6th grade. Me and Rogers have been friends since the 3rd grade. We are real close."

Are any schools recruiting you to play cornerback too? "I think so, but I do not know for a fact right now. Nobody has just come right out and told me they were."

Do you have a preference, as to which position you would like to play on the next level? "Yes sir, I would like to stay at my same position (RB), and also return kicks and punts. But, if things change, I would also play cornerback too."

Did you play any CB last year? "No sir."

Have you ever played any CB? "I did in 10th grade."

Did you start at CB or RB in 10th grade? "I started at RB, but I got in some snaps at CB when were playing passing teams."

Will the position you are being recruited to play be much of a factor for you when it comes decision time? "Yes sir, I want to play tailback."

What will be some other factors for you? "I would also look how early I would actually be able to play. The depth of the position they would want me to play, and the chances of my starting at that position. That is going to be the most important thing for me."

When does Bastrop's season start? "We have a scrimmage game Friday against Carroll, and then play in a jamboree against Evangel Christian on the 27th."

When does your season start? "I think it is on September 3rd."

What are your personal goals for your senior season? "I would like to make USA Today's All-American Team and rush for over 40 TD's. I would also like to rush for over 2,500 yards, something like that."

Aren't you close to the national rushing TD mark? "Yes sir, I am only 12 or 13 shy."

Marcus carries a 2.9 GPA and a 17 on his ACT test.
