The following information was revealed during our interview with Mr. Horne:

What is your current bench press, squat, and vertical? "I bench 235, squat 330, and I had a 33 1/2" jump at the Nike camp. I also ran a 4.65 forty."

What are your strengths at quarterback? "I have a great arm, for one. I am pretty mobile and smart at the same time. I struggle sometimes with my reads, but I do a pretty good job at it. This is my first year in a spread offense, but it has worked out great."

What do you need to work on for the next level? "I just need to become smarter with my decision makings. It is just a mix of things. Anyone's arm strength always needs to keep improving. All of those things. Decision making, speed, arm strength, all of them."

Which camps did you attend this past summer? "I went to the Nike camp in Atlanta, and I also went to the Elite 11 tryouts. College camps, I went to Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, and MTSU."

How long have you been starting for Newnan? "Since my sophomore year."

What were your stats for the season? "I threw for 3, 057 yards. I had 24 passing TD's and 12 interceptions. I do not know how many rushing yards I had, but it was not for much. Our record was 12 - 2. We made it to the state semifinals in GA's largest classification, which is Class 5A."

Which awards did you receive for your play last season? "I made All-State at QB. I was also All-Region. I am one of five QB's from Georgia to ever pass for over 3,000 yards."

How is your season going this year? "We are 0 - 2. We have not playing like we should, but we are about to turn it around. We just have had too many dropped passes and turnovers."

Do you know what your personal stats are for the season? "I am not sure. I have had some pretty good games, but I am not sure how many passing yards I have had."

Which schools are recruiting you the hardest? "Auburn and definitely Ole Miss. I say Clemson is pretty hard too. I say those three are recruiting me the hardest."

Have you received any scholarship offers? "Ball State is it so far. I think the others are pretty close though."

Which schools are you keeping a close eye on? "I like Ole Miss. They are probably my top choice. I also like Auburn and Clemson. I like Maryland too. They are also heavily recruiting me. I will probably set up an official visit with Maryland pretty soon. I actually got a hand written letter from Coach Roper (Ole Miss) today. He told me to keep my head up, stay strong, and to think Ole Miss. He said he would be in touch with me soon."

Any phone calls today? "Coach Nunn at Ole Miss is on the other line right now."

Why is Ole Miss your leader? "I just love their people to begin with. I love their staff. It is my kind of town. I stayed a couple of days after their football camp this summer. I rode around and just checked things out. It seems like a great place."

What are Auburn's positives? "Basically the same things as Ole Miss. I like their people too. I just have Ole Miss in the lead. There is just something about Ole Miss that sticks out."

What will be the factors in your decision? "I want to see what the school is like. First of all, they have to give you a great education, but I also want to see if I want to be there for the next four or five years. The chance to win will also be important."

Tyler is on track to become a full qualifier.
