The following information was revealed during our interview with Desmond Jennings :
What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2", 190, and I run a 4.5 forty."
Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Wide receiver."
What are your strengths on the field? "My athleticism, I guess. My knowledge of the game. I just feel like I am a natural for football."
What are you trying to work on to better prepare yourself for the next level? "Everything, really. I am always trying to improve on everything. The biggest thing I need to work on for the college level is the mental part of the game. I need to keep my head on straight and get bigger, faster, and stronger."
Which camps did you attend this summer? "Just the Alabama one day camp."
How long have you been starting for Pinson Valley (5A)? "Since my sophomore year."
Which positions have you played during this time frame? "In 10th grade, I played WR. Last year, I played WR and S. This year, I play QB and S."
What were your stats as a junior? "I had 32 catches for 662 yards and 14 TD's."
Any awards? "I think I was named 2nd Team All-State."
How did your team fare on the field last season? "Not good. We were like 5 – 5."
How is your season going this year? "Much better. We are 5 – 2 right now."
What do your stats look like? "I have around 1,200 passing yards and 700 – 800 rushing yards. I think I have 11 passing TD's and 16 rushing TD's."
Which schools are recruiting you the hardest? "Probably Ole Miss. Auburn and UAB are too, but I think Ole Miss is the most serious with me out of all of them."
Who all has offered? "I have verbal offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn."
Which schools stand out to you right now? "I would say Ole Miss, Alabama, and Georgia."
Have you been on any unofficial visits? "Yes sir. I have been to 3 Alabama games. I saw them play Ole Miss, Utah State, and Western Carolina. I went to Ole Miss this past weekend to see them play Tennessee."
Which visit was the most exciting? "I would have to say the Ole Miss game. It was crazy. I liked it a lot."
What all do you like about Ole Miss? "A lot of stuff. I know I like Coach Hobby a lot. I spoke to Coach Woods (WR coach at Ole Miss) after the game. He told me how they were going to use me. They have some wide receivers who are graduating this year. That is good for me. I also liked their campus a lot. I had never seen anything like their Grove."
What are Alabama's positives? "I like their tradition. I like Coach Harbonson a lot too. I have a cousin who plays for them too."
After visiting Ole Miss and Alabama; did any one campus feel more at home? "No, Alabama is closer to home, so you feel more there. I felt alright at Ole Miss too. Hiram White, who I played with at Pinson Valley, walked on at Ole Miss last year."
What do you like about Georgia? "They said I can come in and play baseball and football."
Are you looking to play both sports on the next level? "Yea, I want to play baseball for as long as I can."
What else will you look at, when you are trying to find the right school for you? "I just want a place where I can come in and play. That is the main thing. I want to get in the mix of things."
Do you feel like you can do that at Ole Miss? "Oh yea."
Alabama? "Probably so."
Have you set up any official visits? "No, I will get to that after my season is over."
What is your current academic status? "I am not sure about my GPA, but I scored a 16 (ACT) on my first try. I am retaking it this weekend though."
