The following information was revealed during our interview with Travis Sanford:

Tell us about South Panola's season so far? "Man, it is going pretty much as expected. It is going good. We are 9 - 0 and are ranked in the Top 20 in the country (#16 by USA Today)."

What are your stats for the season? "I have not even checked. I know I have like 6 picks on defense and something like 400 receiving yards."

Are you still starting at both the wide receiver and safety positions? "Yea, I have been playing hard both ways. We play Starkville this Friday. It is going to be fun."

Have you seen any college coaches at your games recently? "Coach Luke (Ole Miss) came to the one on Friday. We beat Southaven like 48-18, something like that."

Are you enjoying your new position, safety? "I love safety. I can see everything. It is hard for them to throw my way. They can not go over the top, so they have to do little hitches."

Do you like playing safety as much as wide receiver? "Yea, I do, but I still like wide receiver too."

Any schools recruiting you to go both ways? "No, not really. Mississippi State wants me as a wide receiver and Ole Miss too. I guess Tennessee is for the same thing."

Which schools have phoned you this week? "Ole Miss and MSU. Those are the only two."

Any new offers? "Yea, MSU offered me. Coach Croom called and said I could go down there and start right away. They do not have any threats at wide receiver. They beat Florida 38-31. They played pretty good."

Who do feel like is recruiting you the hardest? "Coaches Luke and Cutcliffe (Ole Miss), they want me real bad, but MSU is coming on."

Do you have any college games on your schedule? "Yea, I am going to Ole Miss this weekend. Coach Cutcliffe wants to show me around their new facility. (Derek) Pegues and (John) Jerry got to do it last week. They had a good time. They said the place is straight."

Which schools are now at the top of your list? "Right now, I am looking at Ole Miss or MSU. I can go to either school and stand out. I would still like to still check out Auburn or Alabama though."

Travis carries a 2.8 GPA.
