What is your current height and weight? "I am 6' 5", 255."
Which positions do you currently play? "I pitch and play first base."
Which side do you throw and bat from? "I throw and bat from the right side."
Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "For the SEC schools, they want me to mainly pitch, but some of the Big 10 schools want me to do both."
What are your strengths on the mound? "I am a competitor on the mound.
I have a mean streak in me. I try to intimidate out there. I want the batter
to know that he is going down before he even takes the first pitch. The mental
part of the game is probably my biggest strength."
What are you currently working on to improve your game? "I am trying to work on throwing my breaking stuff for more strikes and my change up."
What is your out pitch? "My curveball."
How does your curveball break? "From 12 to 6."
What do you max out at? "Mid to upper 90's. I throw it 93 pretty consistently."
Which spot are you in the pitching rotation? "I am our ace."
How long have you been your team's ace? "Since the end of my freshman year."
What were your hitting stats from your junior season? "I batted .550 with 14 HR's."
What were your pitching stats from your junior season? "I was 10 - 3 on
the mound with a 1.12 ERA. I had 160 k's and 35 walks in 100 innings."
Any awards? "I was named All-State and one of the Top 50 Juniors in the country by Street & Smith."
Which AAU traveling team do you play for? "The Indiana Bulls."
Did you get a chance to play in any Showcase tournaments this past summer?"Yes sir, I did. I played in the Area Code games in California. I just got back from the Perfect Games, and I was selected to tryout for the Junior Olympics."
Did Scott Vanslyke and Evan Button play with you in the Area Code Games? "Yea, they sure did. I just saw both of them at the Perfect Games in Florida. We have become friends through baseball."
Which schools are you looking at right now? "I have narrowed it down to three schools, Evansville, Ole Miss, and Tennessee."
Have you set up your official visits? "Yes sir, I went to Evansville on October 13th. I went to Ole Miss last weekend, and I go to Tennessee next weekend."
How did your Ole Miss visit go? "It was a great time, great experience."
What did you learn about Ole Miss during your trip? "That was the first time to visit Ole Miss. I just learned how everything is run down there, socially, athletically, and academically."
What most did you like about Ole Miss? "I would have to say the SEC environment for the weekends. It was great. I also love the players and coaches down there. They have a great program."
What were their selling points? "To come play for an SEC school. All the fans. Great atmosphere of playing in the SEC. And they were one game away from winning the SEC last year. I could be that person to put them over the hump."
Compare Ole Miss to Evansville? "You can just tell the difference in the atmosphere of an SEC school. The SEC is at the top."
What do you like about Evansville? "You know, it is close to home and I have some friends over there."
What are you going to look at when it comes decision time? "I would have to say getting along with the players and coaches. That will be really important for me. Also, I want to see what type of plan they have for me next year. I want to know what they expect from me. Do they want me to be a top line player for them next season or do they want me to take it slow?"
What were Ole Miss' plans for you? "They said I would have a chance to possibly be in the rotation as a weekend starter."
Does that satisfy you? "Yea, just to have that opportunity. That is all that I can ask for, just an opportunity."
What is your current academic status? "I have a 2.8 GPA and I am taking the ACT in December.
