The following information was revealed during our interview with Jimmy Johns:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2 1/2", 223, and I run a 4.7 forty."

What is your current bench press, squat, and vertical? "I can bench up to 270. I squat 450, and my vertical was at 34" at the LSU camp."

Which camps did you attend this summer? "The LSU (7 on 7) and S' West CC (7 on 7) passing camps."

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "I am being recruited as a QB."

What are your strengths on the field? "I am a competitor. I never stop, and I have a good supporting cast. If you have good players around you, it makes you a lot better."

What are you working on for the next level? "Maybe being a little more patient. Patience will help me instead of chucking the ball or tucking it and running. Patience is the key for me."

How long have you been starting for Brookhaven? "For three years."

QB all three years? "Yes sir."

What were your stats as a junior? "I think I had 1,400 passing yards and 20 TD's. I also had 800 rushing yards and 10 TD's."

Any awards? "I was named our Offensive Player of the Year, All-District, All-Region, and I made Dandy Dozen this summer."

How is this season going? "Great, we are 9 - 1. I have 1,200 yards passing and 12 TD's. I also have 800 rushing yards and 15 TD's."

Have you garnered any weekly awards? "I just got a plaque today. WJTV Ch. 12 News named me their Athlete of the Week, statewide. I have been Player of the Week 3 times by The Daily Leader, and the Clarion Ledger named me Player of the Week once."

Which schools are the most serious with you right now? "I have been offered by Auburn, MSU, West Virginia. Memphis is calling. Ole Miss is calling. USM and Iowa are calling. All of those schools are calling and have offered."

Which schools are at the top of your list? "My top 2 are MSU and Auburn, but I am still looking at West Virginia, Memphis, Ole Miss, and USM. I am going to take all five of my visits. I do not know when, but I know I will visit MSU and Auburn for sure. The other three will most likely come from Memphis, Ole Miss, USM, or West Virginia."

What all do you like about MSU? "They run the same offense we run. I love their coaches. I have been up there a few times, so I am pretty familiar with their campus and people. They have a great atmosphere."

What about Auburn? "I mean, they are running a similar offense that we run. Their QB is leaving, and they have a great atmosphere. They are winning really good. I think a lot about them."

What are Ole Miss' positives? "They are not too far. I like Coach Cutcliffe a lot. He is a real nice guy. I need to get up there. I have never been there before. I was suppose to go to a couple of their games, but it did not work out. That is why I am going to take my visits, so I can see some places I have never been to."

What attracts you to USM? "I have been there a lot. I love their atmosphere. Their fans are always into it. I also like Coach Bowers a lot. He has been recruiting me for ever."

What are going to be the factors when it comes decision time? "I want to be in a small town environment but not too small. I want to see if it is fun around there and what type of atmosphere they have. The players on their team will be a major factor. If you can not get a long with their players, then that is not good. I also want to have a chance to play QB and play early. I want to make an impact. I also want to see what type of Business Marketing program they have. I know MSU has one, and I want to see if the other schools have it or not."

Jimmy carries a 2.6 GPA and made a 73 (units) on the ACT test.
