Austin Divinity discusses Ole Miss visit
How has your season gone? "This past game. I had over a 100 yards rushing and 200 yards passing. I had 3 TD's. The game before that, I had 6 TD's. So far, it has been going pretty good. We won our first playoff game last week against Clarkdale."
What is your current record? "8 - 3."
What are your stats for the season? "I have over 900 yards rushing and 500 yards passing. I have 25 total TD's on offense and 2 on defense."
Are you starting on defense? "Yes sir, but I do not play a whole lot because they do not want to get me hurt."
What are your defensive stats and which position do you play on defense? "I have 32 tackles and 2 int's. I play cornerback."
What most have you improved on this season? "I feel I have come to another level this year. Strength, speed, and I found some more ways to score more."
Which schools have called you in the last week? "This week, USM, Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Alcorn State have called. I am getting some letter from Harvard. Oh yea, LSU called too, but Alabama, USM, and Ole Miss are at the top of my list."
Have you received any offers? "Not so far, but I have talked to Coach Hopson (UM), and he said they were on the verge. I sent some film to those three (schools) last week."
Been to any games recently? "I went to Alabama to see them play Ole Miss. This past week, I went to Ole Miss to see them play Auburn. I have also been to Southern Mississippi to see them play East Carolina."
What did you learn during your Ole Miss visit? "I talked to Coach Hopson. He told me that if I came in with an attitude, I can play early there. They have a lot of young guys. I like how their campus is all in one area. I can walk to most of my classes."
Did anyone accompany you on your visit? "My dad did."
How did he like Ole Miss? "He said he liked Ole Miss."
What most did you like about Ole Miss? "The campus and student environment. I like how their coaches take care of things. Like Coach Hopson, he had plenty to do with them playing Auburn and all, but he took the time to go over all of my questions."
What did you learn about Alabama during your trip? "It is kind of similar to Ole Miss. With Alabama, if I were to attend, I feel I have a strong chance to play early. Alabama's campus, it is similar to Ole Miss', but their classes are further apart than Ole Miss'. It would take me more time to get to my classes."
What did you learn about USM? "Their classes are like Ole Miss'. They are all together. Their coaches are ok. Students, I know a couple of them. Their environment is alright."
Do you feel like you can make a difference at Ole Miss? "Yes sir, I feel like I can help them in the secondary."
Do you feel like you can make a difference at Alabama? "I feel like I can help them on the offensive side of the ball, but if they wanted me to play defense, I could put in a hand too."
Which position is each school recruiting you to play? "All three are recruiting me as a DB/WR."
They all want you to go both ways? "Yes sir."
Have you lined up any official visits? I take one to Ole Miss for the Egg Bowl (11/27). My first official visit will be to Ole Miss. I will probably go to Alabama and USM in December, and I am talking to Arkansas about coming in January."
