Trey Dunmon commits to Ole Miss
Trey Dunmon (OL, Hawkinsville, GA) - Trey Dunmon has been one of the players shooting up the recruiting boards after some quality summer camps and those performances coupled with his fine on-field play this season have garnered him a big SEC offer that he could not refuse. Where did it come from?

“I’m committed to Ole Miss. I finally did it on Thursday. I just like the coaches over there and everything I heard about them is positive. It’s a big load off of my shoulders really,” Trey Dunmon said.

How did Trey inform the Rebel coaching staff?

“Coach Latina called me and I called Coach Luke back to tell him I was committing. He was telling me how glad he was about my decision and he was happy for me. I am a solid commitment to Ole Miss.”

Is the Hawkinsville standout concerned about making a commitment before he’s officially been to the campus?

“I’m not really concerned. Every opinion I’ve heard from people in different walks of life just say it’s a great place. I know the coaches, and like I said that’s the main factor in my decision so I’m not really worried.”

How ready is he to finally see the University up close?

“I really want to check it out. I heard they have a brand new indoor facility and all that stuff, but I haven’t set my official visit date there just yet. I’m not sure when I’ll do that.”

Will he take any other visits?

“I don’t know if I’ll visit anywhere else right now. It’s too early to say. I’m just ready to play football at the moment.”

When Dunmon finally steps foot in Oxford, he’ll have a friendly face already there to show him around.

Michael Bozeman used to go Hawkinsville and he’s at Ole Miss now, so I’ll know somebody right off the bat. It’s nice having someone there you can look to when you need it.”

Who else was after Trey prior to his commitment?

Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt wanted me after I brought my SAT up, but that hasn’t happened yet. I get the score back from my latest try at it pretty soon, but I’m already fully qualified for Ole Miss regardless of what I get on it.”

Dunmon is certainly looking forward to his career in the Magnolia State, but he has some unfinished business to take care of at home first. Mainly, leading the Red Devils back to another State Championship in consecutive seasons.

“We beat Portal Friday like 34-7 and were still undefeated. We start the 3rd round of the playoffs this week. As for my numbers, I know I have like 7 sacks on defense. We don’t really keep offensive line stats, so I don’t know how many pancakes I have or anything else though.”

Trey is a great pickup for the Rebels along the offensive front and he should bring a fire and enthusiasm to the game that will only benefit the program in the long run.
