Player Tidbits

As we all know, South Panola has three Dandy Dozen selections on their team and all three are coveted by the Rebels.

They are:

Derek Pegues
Derek Pegues (DB, Batesville, MS) - The 5' 11", 207 pound 4 Star athlete by and is a member of the prestigious All-South Team by the Orlando Sentinel.

Pegues has totaled over 2,200 yards and 25 TD's of offense this year. At cornerback, he leads the Tigers with 6 interceptions.

Derek has narrowed his list to Ole Miss, Michigan, LSU, Tennessee and Alabama.

Derek Pegues
Travis Sanford (S/WR, Batesville, MS) - The 6' 4", 200 pound 4 Star prospect could be the most talented player to come out of South Panola in years, and we all know that the "University" of South Panola produces the cream of the crop year in and year out, so that is no chop liver of a statement.

Sanford's main responsibilities this year lie in the secondary, as he was moved from wide receiver to safety during the offseason. For the year, Travis has 8 Td's at wide receiver and 6 interceptions at safety.

Travis' list contains Ole Miss, Auburn, MSU, LSU, and USM.

Derek Pegues
John Jerry (OL, Batesville, MS) - The 6' 6", 315 pound Dandy Dozen selection has had his way on the defensive line this year.

Jerry has over 80 tackles, 12 sacks, and 5 caused fumbles for the #1 ranked defense in the state of Mississippi. Even with John's success on the defensive line, most project Jerry for the right tackle slot on the offensive side of the ball for the next level.

Jerry will take official visits with Ole Miss, Auburn, Memphis, MSU, and USM.
