The following information was revealed during our interview with Justin Sparks:

How did your season go? "It went great. We are state champs (Div 11 2A)."

What were your stats for the season? "I was 11-17 in field goals. I had a long of 47 yards, and I was 3 of 4 from field goals from over 40 yards. I had an injury, and I missed some after that, but overall, I had a pretty decent year. I was also 42-42 in extra points. I never missed one in my four years here."

Didn't you also punt? "Yes sir, I had a 40.6 yard average for the year."

And kickoffs? "Over 60% of my kickoffs were for touchbacks."

What most did you improve on this year? "Definitely my punting, and I added some yards on my field goals. I feel like I am a lot stronger now."

Any awards come your way since the season was let out? "I was named as a Finalist for Mr. Football in Div (2A), and I was named a Finalist for Mr. Football in the state of Tennessee, for all of the kickers. I made 1st Team All-State in Division 11 also."

Have you had a chance to speak with Coach Orgeron yet? "Yes sir, he came to my house last week. He was a real nice guy. I like him a bunch."

What all did he have to say? "He was telling me everything was still going to be the same, with my scholarship status and all. He wants me to be around him as much as possible until I get there. He wants me to come to every Spring practice that I can, and he wants me to enroll in summer school at Ole Miss. He was just real excited and positive about everything."

Did this solidify your commitment to Ole Miss? "Definitely, I like him a bunch. He wants to win national championships. He has high goals, and he is a good coach."

How is your personal recruiting going? "Pretty good. I am pleased with everything. I am glad that Coach "O" came before the dead period sarted. All of my questions were answered. I am still working on Michael Oher. He is a quiet guy, so he really does not let on much about where he is going. I do not know if he has made up his mind or not, but I am still working on him."

Justin carries a 3.4 GPA and a 24 on the ACT.
