Rob Park earns 1st Team All-State at punter

Ole Miss could come back into the picture with the recent decommitment of Blake McAdams. We hear that the Rebel's new offensive coordinator, Noel Mazzone, will give Rob an inhome visit on Tuesday.


The following information was revealed during our interview with Rob Park:

How did your season go this year? "It was great. We finished 11-1 and won the Div 11 (3A) State Championship."

What were your stats for the season? "I rushed for 379 yards and 11 Td's I passed for 1, 466 yards and 13 Td's Punting wise, I had 41 punts for a 38.1 yard average, and I landed 10 punts inside the 20 yard line."

Any awards come your way? "I was named to the Commercial Appeal's Best of the Preps. I was the Tennessee Sports Writers 1st Team All-State punter. I made Div 11 1st Team at Punter and Quarterback, and I was the Div 11 Offensive Player of the Year."

What most did you improve on this year? "Probably punting wise, my hangtime and distance Throwing wise, I just stuck to the game plan. We worked hard every game No one really returned any of my punts this year. I had some really good hangtimes."

Have you set up any official visits? "I am going to Auburn on January 14 and Alabama on January 21. I had NC.State scheduled in December. We are in the process of rescheduling it."

Where does Ole Miss fit in your plans? "They are still in the running. I like Ole Miss a lot, but they quit recruiting me when Blake (McAdams) committed. I do not know now that Blake is not going there anymore. I really like Ole Miss. They are one of my favorites."

Which schools are keeping in weekly contact? "I talk to Coach Unger at Alabama a lot, and I talk to Eddie Gran at Auburn a lot too."

What are you looking for in a school? "Just how I would fit it. Is it the right situation for me?"

Rob carries a 3.0 GPA and a 26 on the ACT.
