The following information was revealed during our interview with Burnell Wallace:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I have grown like 2 inches this year. I am up to 6' 2". I weight 190, and the last time I was timed in the forty, I ran a 4.35 at the New Orleans combine."

Current bench press, squat, and vertical? "I have not really maxed out in a while. The last time I did, it was like 275 (bench) and 300 (squat). My vertical was 38" at the combine."

What makes you a good receiver? "My speed and what I do after the catch."

What are you working on for the college level? "Really, my strength. I need to get stronger."

You graduated from O.Perry Walker (5A) last year? "Yes sir."

What were your stats as a senior? "I had 60 catches for 1,060 yards and 19 TD's. I also returned 4 kicks and 4 punts for TD'.s"

Any awards? "I was named Offensive Player of the Year in District 9(5A), West Banks' Player of the Year, 1st Team Class 5A, and All-Parish."

Who did you sign with last year? "Oregon State, but I did not make my grades."

What did you do this fall? "I just sat out and took the ACT test. I only needed a point. I made my score, and now I am going to enroll at Ole Miss in January. I start school on January 18."

Why did you choose Ole Miss over Oregon State? "Well, my old high school coach (Frank Wilson) is now the running backs coach at Ole Miss. And besides, it is a lot closer to home."

Do you feel solid with your decision? "Yes sir. My only regret is is that I am having to change my mind. Coach Riley is a nice guy, and has really stood beside me. I hate to do him this way, but he understands that I needed to be closer to home."

You have already told Oregon State about your change of heart? "Yes sir. They understood."

Where there anymore schools who were trying to get you to sign with them instead of Oregon State? "Yes sir, LSU, San Diego State, and Auburn were the main ones."

Are you going to try and recruit any of your friends to Ole Miss with you? "Milton Collins. He is coming (to Ole Miss). He will be there in the summer time because he graduates from Jones CC in the Spring."

Reports came out that your former teammate, Dennis Christopher, is going to join you at Ole Miss. Is this true? "He is going to Oregon State on Sunday. We were in the same boat, needing our ACT score. We both passed the test, but he leaves on Sunday."

How big of a role did Coach Frank Wilson play in your decision? "He meant everything. He is a great coach that is a father figure for me and a lot of the people around here (New Orleans)."

What kind of reputation does Coach Wilson carry in New Orleans? "Oh, you know, he is the man. He cares about you as the person, not the player. Everyone in (New) Orleans knows that."

Wallace will enroll at Ole Miss in January.
