His performances on the field were good enough to earn All-South by the Orlando Sentinel. Perry is rated as the #23 RB in the country by ESPN and #9 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana by Super Prep.
Perry choose Ole Miss over Texas A&M.
The following information was revealed during our interview with Kendrick Perry:
What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2", 215, and I run a 4,51 forty."
What is your current bench press, squat, and vertical? "I bench 265, squat 450, and I have a 33" vertical."
Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Tailback."
What are your strengths at tailback? "I have great vision, and I can make the cut. I hit the holes pretty quick too."
What are you working on for the next level? "I need to get my speed down and get stronger."
How did Amite (3A) fare on the field this season? "We won state (championship)."
What were your stats for the year? "I do not know my exact stats, but I know I had over 2,000 yards rushing, and I had 31 TD'."
Did you garner any awards? "Yes sir, I was named District 9(3A) Player of the Year, Class 3A Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, and I was the MVP of the Dome Championship (State title game). I was also Nola's (New Orleans surrounding area) Offensive Player of the Year ."
Did you commit to Ole Miss? "Yes sir."
Who came in second place? "Probably Texas A&M."
Why did you decide on Ole Miss? "I got to sit down and talk with Coach Frank Wilson last night. He made me feel comfortable in how they are going to use me. Besides, I have always wanted to go there. I just wanted them to want me as bad as I wanted them. When Coach Wilson was hired, everything was straight after that."
Did you have a prior relationship with Coach Wilson? "I had never met him, but I knew who he was."
When are you scheduled to visit Ole Miss? "January 15th."
Do you have anymore visits scheduled? "I don't now."
Which position did Ole Miss recruit you to play? "Tailback."
What is your current GPA and ACT score? "I have a 3.3 cumulative GPA and a 16 on the ACT."
What do you need, ACT wise, to become a full qualifier? "A 16."
