Patrick Trahan wavering?
The following information was revealed during our interview with Patrick Trahan:
What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2", 214, and I run a 4.4 forty."
Current bench press, squat, and vertical? "I benched 275 last week. I squatted 515, and I have a 38" vertical."
Are you being recruited more for safety or linebacker? "Both, schools are not sure where they want me right now. They just want me."
What are your strengths on the field? "My biggest strength is my knowledge of the game. My speed and hard hitting too. But my biggest strength is that I know the game."
What are you working on for the next level? "I just want to get my speed down and my weight up."
How did your season go this year? "I had my best season. I had 120 something tackles, 10 caused fumbles, 9 sacks, and 2 interceptions."
Any awards? "I was named All-District and All-State."
Do you have any official visits lined up this month? "I go to Auburn on January 22nd."
Any recent inhome visits? "Coaches Orgeron and Frank Wilson came to my house Thursday."
What did they say? "They just told me about their program and where I fit in. Coach Orgeron said he is about to turn things around."
What was your impression of Coach Orgeron? "He is nice guy. I thought he was just a position coach until he told me. He was real approachable. I did not know too much about him until we met. He filled me in on a lot of stuff. He seems to be very interested in me."
Did you know Coach Frank Wilson before he was hired at Ole Miss? "Yes sir. He knows my dad really well, and I have known him for a long/long time. He is a real nice guy that is straight forward with me. That is why I like him so much."
Did you set up an official visit with Ole Miss during your visit? "I am not sure yet. I have not arranged the visit in concrete, but we are talking about it."
Which schools have offered you a scholarship? "It has been a while since I have talked to anybody. Especially after I committed to Auburn. But, USM, Ole Miss, Memphis, and Auburn are the ones that I know of off the top of my head."
Do you have any future inhome visits on tap? "Coach Knox (AU) is suppose to come by next week."
What attracts you to Auburn? "I like their coaches and how loyal they are to me. They were the first coaches to call me. Their defense is always in the top 5. They show consistency in their defenses. They always have a good defense."
Are you solid with your commitment to Auburn? "I am still pretty solid but Ole Miss is a big school too. I am 98% sure I am going to Auburn, but nothing is for sure. It will not hurt anything if I check out Ole Miss."
Patrick carries a 2.8 GPA and an 18 on the ACT.
