The following information was revealed during our interview with Lyle Hitt:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2", 290, and I run a 4.9 forty."

What are your strengths at defensive tackle? "My technique and speed. I use a lot of techniques because of my size. I am not the tallest guy, so I have to use a lot of leverage. I am really aggressive too."

What are you working for on the next level? "My strength and speed."

What is your current bench press and squat? "I bench 350 and squat 550."

How long have you been starting at Parkview? "I use to go to Silliman Institute, and I transferred to Parkview before the start of my junior season. I have started both seasons here and both seasons there."

Did you know Andrew Wicker while you were at Silliman? "Oh yea (laugh). Everyone always asks me that. I know him pretty well. I have not seen him since he left Silliman, but we talk a pretty good bit."

What were your stats for the 2004 season? "I missed 4 games because of a high ankle sprain. They were not that great, like 48 tackles and 6 or 7 sacks."

Did you garner any awards? "I was named All-District, All-Metro, and All-State by the Coaches and Sports Writers."

Have you lined up any official visits? "I go to LSU this weekend and Ole Miss next weekend."

Who recruits you for Ole Miss? "Coach Orgeron called me over the break. Coach Camp is recruiting me for them. He is from Shaw (LA)."

When did Ole Miss start contacting you? "The first phone call from them was right after Christmas. Coach Orgeron called."

What did he have to say? "We talked about what I plan to do. He showed interest and offered me. We talked defensive stuff because he is going to be their defensive coordinator. He also talked about what he is going to do at Ole Miss."

What has attracted you to take a visit with Ole Miss? "Just Coach Orgeron being a defensive line guy. That sparks my interest. I am going to go over there and scope it out, and just reassure my commitment to LSU. I hate to say it like t hat, but I hear it is a nice place to be, and I want to check it out."

What all do you like about LSU? "Just their program, atmosphere, and anyone who knows me, knows I am a homie guy. I have grown up a big LSU fan. It is a great place to play football. Coach Saban brought that to LSU, and I do not know, I just love LSU."

Does Coach Saban's departure change your status? "Not necessarily. I was disappointed. It is a loss but that is coaching. Any coach can leave at any time. You try to base your decision on a little more than a coach. It does have a little effect though, but not too much. I am still pretty solid."

Which schools have offered you a scholarship? "Ole Miss, Alabama, and LSU. That is it. I think. The other offers were a long time ago."

Will you take anymore official visits besides LSU and Ole Miss? "No sir, Alabama wants us to visit, but I think that is going to be it."

Lyle carries a 2.7 GPA and an 18 on the ACT.
