The following information was revealed during our interview with Steven Korte:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 2", 240, and I run a 4.58 forty."

Current bench press, squat, and vertical? "I bench 405, my vertical is 36", and my squat is 450."

Are you being recruited for the fullback position? "No sir, I have been a running back since I was a freshman. I did play some fullback this year, but I also played some tailback."

What are your strengths on the field? "My feel, vision, and explosiveness out of my stance. I have break away speed."

What are your working on? "My agility, cutting ability, and change of direction."

How did your season go this year? "We did well. Our record was 12-3. We lost in the semifinals to West Monroe."

What were your stats for the season? "I had 16 TD's and 979 yards rushing. I know I had a 7.5 yard average per carry."

Any awards? "I was named 2nd Team All-District."

Do you have any official visits lined up? "I only have two right now, LSU and Ole miss."

When are they? "I go to Ole Miss on January 14th and LSU on January 21st."

Which colleges have offered you a scholarship? "I received offers from Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Miami. Those are the only ones I can think of off of the top of my head. I committed to LSU so early.

Who kept recruiting you after you committed to LSU? "Arkansas, South Carolina, Miami, and Ole Miss."

Have you had any inhome visits? "Yes sir, Arkansas, South Carolina, LSU, and Ole Miss."

Any head coaches? "Yes sir, all four of those schools brought their head coaches."

Did any one coach stand out? "I liked all four of the coaches, really. LSU's stood out the most as far as coaches."

When and why did you commit to LSU? "It was last March 10th. I committed because they had just won a national championship that year. I liked the position I was going into. That is why I choose LSU."

With Saban's departure, does that change anything? "I thought it did at first. I was real disappointed, but I started talking to Coach Miles, and he has the same plan as Saban did for me."

Then why are you going to visit Ole Miss? "I talked with Coach Frank Wilson last week. He told me some things I am really interested in. He said he was going to use me as a tailback, where I can catch the ball in the open, so I decided to check them out."

When did Ole Miss start contacting you? "I want to say two weeks ago. Coach Orgeron called me. He is good friends with my father. My father and Bobby Hebert played together for the Saints, and Coach Orgeron grew up with Mr. Bobby. All three of them are real close. That is not why I like Ole Miss though, it just so happens that Coach Orgeron got the Ole Miss job. I was liking Ole Miss before Coach Orgeron got there too. But as soon as Coach Orgeron was hired, he called me and came and saw me that week."

Did Coach Orgeron recruit you while he was at USC too? "Yes sir."

What are going to be the factors in your decision? "I guess, just which school feels right. I do not have an idea what I am looking for. I am just going to see which two schools feels teh best."

Steven carries a 3.0 GPA and a 17 on the ACT.
