The following information was revealed during our interview with Robert Russell:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 0", 228, and I run a 4.58 forty."

Tell us about your season this year. "I think it was my best year yet. I had 168 tackles, 119 solos, 1 int for a TD, and 11 sacks."

Awards? "I was named Player of the Year in District 3 (5A), and I was Metro MVP. I made All-West Bank, All-American (Shreveport Bowl), and I was given the Humanitarian award for West Bank by the Coaches Association."

Did you commit to Ole Miss? "Yes sir."

Which colleges offered you a scholarship? "I was offered by Ole Miss, Arkansas, West Virginia, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Southern Mississippi, Notre Dame, Vandy, Bowling Green, Louisville, San Diego State, Tulane, and a bunch more. It was really hard narrowing it down because there were so many great ones."

Which schools did you end up taking an official visit? "I went to Arkansas (12/3), USM (12/17), Cinci (1/7), West Virginia (1/14), and Ole Miss (1/21). I was suppose to go to South Carolina, but I went to Ole Miss instead."

You almost did not visit Ole Miss? "Yea, at first, I really did not want to go there because they were signing so many players from Louisiana There are so many negative people from around here, and I really wanted to get away from all of that. But then, I got to meet some of them at the All-Star functions, and I had it all wrong. They were like, man, you need to come to Ole Miss with us, and they just attracted me there. The people they were committing from Louisiana, that just drew towards Ole Miss. Then me and my boy, Alonzo Horton, went there this weekend. Coach Frank (Wilson) was the head coach at O.Perry Walker and my head coach was his assistant. They were like frat brothers too. So, you know, I told him if I liked it on my visit, I would commit. I liked everything but one thing, there dorm rooms are so small. They were the smallest out of all of the dorm rooms I saw on my trips. But like I was told, all you are going to be doing in there is sleeping anyway."

Who was your host over the weekend? "Kelvin Robinson. They call him K Rod. He is full of energy, just like their coaching staff. He showed me around the campus, their apartments, dorm rooms, just about everything. Before he left, he came up and kissed my mother on the cheek and said she had a new son. My momma loved him. Another thing that caught my attention is that they are looking for freshmen to come in and help. They told me I had no choice, I have to play next year. That is one of the things that helped me narrow it down, where I could get some immediate playing time. That kind of sealed the deal for me."

How important was Coach Frank Wilson in your decision? "Real important. I trust him, and my family and coaches trust him. He is a big reason Alonzo and me are both coming. See, Alonzo and I work out together every day. Coach Frank has always been there for us and our families. He told us that Alonzo and I could live together next year. We are going to get there this summer and get a jump on things. But yea, Coach Frank, he knows what I am like, and I know he will always be there for me."

Will you receive anymore inhome visits? "I am done with everything. Coach Frank is coming by on Tuesday, and he is the only one that will be coming to the crib."

What is your current academic status? "I have a 3.5 Core GPA, and I made a 15 on the ACT test, but because my core GPA is so high, I am already a full qualifier."
