Back from Ole Miss visit
The following information was revealed during our interview with Chris Todd:
What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 3", 210, and I run a 4.7 forty."
What are your strengths at quarterback? "My experience. My dad is a coach. I have been around the game a long time. I am a pocket passer. Coming with experience, I know the passing game pretty well. My dad was a QB in high school and DB in college, so he helps me out with learning the defenses and routes. I have started all four years here, so I have a lot of experience."
What are your working on for the next level? "As soon as I get to college, I want to start working out with my wide receivers. The college game is a lot faster and so are the wide receivers. I want to put on 5 to 10 pounds before I report, that way I will be ready to compete right off of the bat. I will just study a lot of film and learn the offense as quickly as possible."
How did Elizabethtown fare on the field this season? "We went 11-2 and lost in the regional championship game. The year before, we went 12-3 and made it to the championship game. I had a lot better year my junior season."
What were your stats from this past season? "I had something like 3,200 passing yards and 38 TD's."
Career passing yards? "10, 768."
Did you garner any awards this year? "I made the Hot 100 list by Student Sports, and I was named to Kentucky's Tremendous 26 Team. I also made All-State for the past couple of years."
Which colleges have offered you a scholarship? "The ones I have been looking at lately, who have offered me, are Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and North Carolina State."
Which schools have you taken an official visit? "North Carolina State, Texas Tech, and I went to Oklahoma and Ole Miss this past week."
Did you commit to Texas Tech? "Yes sir."
When? "Like right after Christmas."
Did anyone accompany you on your trip to Ole Miss? "My parents did."
How did your parents like Ole Miss? "They liked it a lot. Everyone was very hospitable to us."
Who was your host? "Andrew Wicker. He was a lot of fun."
What did you learn about Ole Miss that maybe you did not know from before? "I got to meet all of their coaches. We talked about their offense, their qb situation, and their wide receivers."
Did you like what you were told? "The staff they have coming in is really good. The team has a really good upside for the next couple of years. The facilities are as good or better than anybody. And it is a good situation coming in if you are a QB, which I am, so."
When did you start looking at Ole Miss? "Coach Noel Mazzone was at N.C. State when I went on my visit. He has been recruiting for a while now. When he went to Ole Miss, I basically started researching them."
Where does Ole Miss fit in the picture with you? "I am not ready to comment on that right now. I have to talk to some other people first."
Chris carries a 3.7 GPA and a24 on the ACT.
