South Panola press conference

The South Panola trio made their choices public this morning.

John Jerry (DL) and Travis Sanford (WR) have opted for Ole Miss, while Derek Pegues (DB) has choosen MSU in this morning's press conference

Another South Panola product, Peria Jerry (DL), had previously announced for Ole Miss.

John Jerry (DL, South Panola, MS) - John was selected to the Dandy Dozen team and is rated as a 3 Star lineman by scout.com. John was the key run stopper for the Tigers' defense this year. He totaled 68 tackles and 12 sacks for the year while helping South Panola to the Class 5A championship. John was named 1st Team All-State (MAC) and 1st Team All-State Clarion Ledger for his play on the field.

Peria Jerry (DL, South Panola, MS) - Peria signed with Ole Miss in February of '04 but failed to qualify. During his senior season, he had 105 tackles, , 3 sacks, and 9 knockdowns. Jerry was named Mississippi's Defensive Player of the Year for his play on the field.
Jerry is currently enrolled at Hargrave Aca and is expected to enroll at Ole Miss in June.

Travis Sanford (WR, South Panola, MS) - Travis was selected to the Dandy Dozen team and is a 4 Star receiver for scout.com. He was also rated as Mississippi's #2 prospect by scout.com. Travis had 47 tackles and 8 interceptions on defense and 19 receptions for 487 receiving yards and 6 TD's on offense. He was named 1st Team All-State and was a member of Mississippi's Top 10 Most wanted.

Derek Pegues
(DB, South Panola, MS) - Derek was selected as an Army All-American and is rated as the #4 CB and is a 5 Star selection by scout.com. For the year, Pegues had over 2,400 yards of offense and 34 TD's and 7 int's on defense, while leading South Panola to back to back State Championships.
