Elite Louisiana junior recruit commits to Ole Miss
The following information was revealed during our interview with Kendrick Lewis:
What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 0", 176, and I run a 4.5 forty."
Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "I am being recruited as a wide receiver mainly. I play DB too."
What are your strengths on the field? "My athleticism allows me to be mobile enough to play at any position."
What are you working on for the next level? "My speed and my strength."
How long have you been starting for O. Perry Walker (5A)? "Since my sophomore year."
Which position(s) did you start at this season? "I started at WR and DB. The first five games, I was our starting quarterback. I moved to wide receiver after that."
What were your stats for the year? "I had 860 yards passing, 740 rushing yards, and I had 660 receiving yards in 5 games. I think I had a total of 34 TD's, something like that."
Did you receive any awards? "I was named All-District, and I was a preseason All-Metro and State selection."
Are you receiving any early recruiting attention? "Yes sir, Ole Miss, Auburn, Michigan, LSU, and Georgia have all been recruiting me pretty hard."
Any early leaders? "I committed to Ole Miss yesterday. I called Coach Frank Wilson today and told him that I wanted to be their 1st commitment."
Why did you commit to Ole Miss? "Because I have always dreamed of playing in the SEC. I went on an unofficial visit with my guardian last weekend and loved it. I really liked their campus and coaching staff."
Tell us about your relationship with Frank Wilson, Ole Miss' running back coach. "Coach Frank, I love him like a father. He is my father figure for me, and he has helped me out a lot. I owe a lot to Coach Frank. He has gotten me to where I am now."
With your commitment coming so early; do you feel solid with your decision? "Yea, I feel like I am going to stick with Ole Miss. My mom has not talked to their coaches yet, but I feel that this is my decision, and I want to be at Ole Miss."
Will you go to any football camps this summer? "I think Ole Miss is holding the Nike camp this year. It was at LSU last year, but I was hurt, so I could not play. I know I will be going to the Nike camp at Ole Miss, but that is all I know for now. I will have to talk it over with my coaches and see what they have to say."
What is your current GPA and ACT score? "I have a 2.7 core GPA. I have not taken the ACT yet, but I am taking it on the (February) 12th."
