The following information was revealed during our interview with Jacarious Lucas:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 3 1/2", 185, and I run a 4.68 forty."

Which position are you being recruited to play by Ole Miss? "Mainly wide receiver."

What are your strengths on the field? "My height gives me the advantage to go up and get the ball. I run precise routes too."

What are you working on for the next level? "First, I want to increase my speed so I can compete on the next level. The next thing, I want to work on my hands. Those are the two big things, my speed and hands. I could get stronger too. You always need to keep getting stronger in this game."

What is your current strength? "I bench around 205 and squat 310."

Vertical? "34 inches."

How long have you been starting for East Side? "For three years. My sophomore year, I did not have a real good season because I played tight end. I did not get that many balls thrown my way. I only had one touchdown. My junior season, they moved me to QB until the last give games, then they moved me to WR. I had 25 receptions for 525 yards and 8 TD's in five games. I was named to the All-Area team that year. Then this year, I had 31 receptions for 898 yards and 10 TD's. I earned the Delta Democrat's Offensive Player of the Year and Dandy Dozen. I also made the Boliver Commercial All-Area Team."

What is happening, recruitment wise, right now? "Well, I was not qualified until January, so I really was not receiving that much attention until I made my test score. Some schools like Ole Miss, Memphis, and UAB having been calling me lately. I feel like if I had my grades in order before the start of my senior year, I would have been recruited a lot harder."

Have you taken any recent visits? "I went to Ole Miss today with my mother."

How did you she like Ole Miss? "She has been there a bunch. Her nephew is Ken Lucas, who played DB there. We have been over there a bunch. She really likes Ole Miss, but she is leaving the decision up to me. Where I want to go to school is where she wants me to go to school."

How did your meeting with Coach O go? "It was not what I was expecting. He told me where I stood with the team. I thought I was just going over there to sign my papers, but he told me that he needed to watch some more film before he makes a final decision, so the process is going to take a little longer than I was anticipating."

Did he give you a time line? "He told me he would call me by Wednesday night to let me know."

Lucas carries a 3.0 GPA and a 16 on the ACT.
