<BR><A HREF="http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=177&p=8&cfg=null&c=1&nid=1772530">Markeith Summers</A> </B>(WR, Olive Branch, MS) - One of Mississippi's top rising seniors attended Ole Miss' Jr Day this past Saturday.<BR><BR>We called to see how his visit went.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Markeith Summers:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 3", 192, and I run a 4.5 forty."

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Wide out."

What are your strengths at wide receiver? "My ability to go up and get the ball, and my ability to outrun people."

What are you working on for the next level? "My footwork, lifting weights, and just getting bigger."

What do you max out at these days? "About 230 on my bench and 390 with my squat."

Have you ever been tested with your vertical jump? "Yes sir, I measured at 37 or 38 inches at the Ole Miss camp last summer, something like that."

Which camps did you attend last summer? "I went to the MSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, and N' East CC passing camp."

Where do you expect to camp this year? "I know I am going to the same camps as I did last yearr (MSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, and N' East CC ), but I might go to one or two more. I am not sure yet."

How long have you been starting for Olive Branch? "Since the 10th grade."

All at WR? "I played some tight end too. And in 8th and 9th grade, I played some outside linebacker."

What were your stats as a junior? "I had 24 catches for 700 yards and 7 TD's. I averaged over 30 yards a catch last year."

Any awards? "I made All-State (coaches), All-Region, All-District, and that is about it."

Which schools are recruiting you the hardest? "Ole Miss and Auburn.."

Any early scholarship offers? "Yes sir, Ole Miss, Auburn, MSU, and I think Nebraska has offered too."

Which schools are you taking a close look at right now? "I went down to Ole Miss for their Jr Day yesterday. I like their style the best so far."

Did anyone accompany you on your trip? "A lot of my teammates came with me and our coach came too."

What did you learn about Ole Miss that you did not know from before? "I learned how they are going to run their offense. I also toured their facilities. I like theirs (facilities) the most so far."

What type of offense is Ole Miss going to run? "A balanced offense. 50% run /50% pass."

What do you like about Ole Miss the most right now? "Their coaches. I like how they talk to me."

How long have you been catching your brother's (Anthony Summers) passes? "We have been playing together since 8th grade. He (Anthony) use to play running back, and I played outside linebacker. He just started playing QB in 10th grade."

Talk about your relationship with Anthony, both on and off the field? "We get along pretty well. We still fight a lot, like all brothers do, but when it is time to get down to business, we let all of that stuff go."

Do you two want to continue playing together on the collegiate level? Yea, we have been talking about it. It is not a big concern, but we would like to."

What are your personal goals for your senior year? "My number one goal is to win State. I do not know how we will do it, but that is my #1 goal."

Any personal goals? "Yea, I would like to catch everything that comes my way, no matter how it comes. I do not want a ball hitting the ground next year. That is my goal."

What is your current academic status? "I am waiting on the ACT results right now. I took it in February. I have like a 2.4 GPA, some where around there. Everything is straight."
