Genesis, which is a Christian based prep school, was recently opened and is already competing on the hardwood. In fact, they start their playoff run this week in the state of Florida.
Clark is still on schedule to graduate and is expected to arrive in Oxford in late May.
The following information was revealed during our interview with Bobby Clark:
What is your current height and weight? "I am 6' 6", 208."
Which school are you currently attending? "I left New Creation (Richmond, VI) on Friday, and I enrolled at Genesis in Mendenhall (MS) yesterday."
Will your classes transfer to your new school? "Yes sir, we are on a quarter system at both schools, so I was done with my classes at New Creation anyway."
Will you still graduate in May? "I am not sure what their graduation date is, but it is some time in May."
Did you play for New Creation up to this week? "Yes sir."
What was New Creation's record before you left? "We were 27-1."
What were your stats for the season? "I was averaging 18.8 points, 8 assist, and 5 rebounds per game."
What most have you improved on this year? "Just getting my whole team involved, my assists were higher than they have ever been."
Do you know your shooting percentages? "No sir."
It sounds like you and your old team were having a great year; why transfer? "It was just too crowded, and I needed to get back closer to my mom and dad. Mendenhall is only like a 30 minute drive, so I can come see my family at any time. And besides, I am going to get to play for Genesis starting this week."
Genesis has a basketball team? "Yes sir."
Would we be familiar with any of your new teammates? "I really do not know. I just met them today."
Genesis is a prep school? "Yes sir."
Where does Genesis play at next? "We go to Sub-Regionals in Florida this week. We play two games there, and then we go to Atlanta for Regionals next week. And if we win that, we go to Nationals in Memphis, TN. I think it is Memphis, but I could be wrong. I know it is somewhere in Tennessee."
What most are you going to have to improve on for the college level? "Really, I am just trying to get my body in shape. I am doing a lot of conditioning, running, and lifting weights. I am just trying to get stronger."
What do you max out at these days? "Probably around 225, but I mostly do push-ups. At the end of the season, I will start lifting heavy."
When do you expect to arrive at Ole Miss? "I am leaving in late May. I will probably attend the 1st summer session and get a class or two out of the way."
You still feel confident you are on track to qualify? "Yes sir, I will be at Ole Miss in June."
What are your personal goals for your freshman season at Ole Miss? "My goal is to become a better player and make the team better. I want to be a part of the group that takes Ole Miss back to the Sweet 16. Coach Barnes just has not had the players recently, but he will next year. We will make some noise."
What can the Ole Miss fans expect from Bobby Clark, both as a person and as the player? "As a person, they can expect me to talk to anyone. I just love people. I love talking to people. I do not care what color you are. I just like to be around people. As a basketball player, I am going to help us get a lot of wins and bring the excitement back to the Tad Pad, like it use to be when I was in high school. We are going to make it exciting for the Ole Miss families and kids."
Which position do you expect to start out at next year? "The 3."
