Summers moved to QB in the 10th grade, but this year, he will be getting some snaps at QB and SS, although his main duties will be at quarterback.

Most college recruiters agree that that either strong safety or free safety will be where he will land on the next level. So far, Ole Miss, MSU, Nebraska, Auburn, and Tennessee have offered Summers a scholarship to play in their secondary. There will be plenty more to follow, as Anthony is one of the top playmakers in the traditionally rich Deep South.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Anthony Summers:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 3", 198, and I ran a 4.58 the last time I ran the 40."

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "I do not really know yet, they just ask where I like to play."

Which is? "Either free safety or strong safety, but I like strong safety more."

Why? "I want to be closer to the ball. I have never played it, but I want to play it."

What are your strengths on the field? "When plays break down, I have the ability to run and make something happen with my legs."

What are your working on to make yourself a better player? "The ability to read defenses and not make so many plays with my legs."

Did you attend any camps last summer? "I went to Alabama, Ole Miss, MSU, and N' East CC's camps."

And this summer? "I am going to Auburn, Ole Miss, MSU, and Alabama. I think that is it."

How long have you been starting for Olive Branch? "Every year since I was a freshman."

The positions you have played during this time frame? "FS, WR, a little RB, and QB. I played a little CB too."

What were your stats as a junior? "I can not really tell you right now. Probably around 800 yards passing and 800 yards rushing."

Did you get to play any defense last year? "Against Starkville, I played a little free safety."

Did you garner any awards last season? "I was named Most Improved RB, All-Region, and Best of the Preps by the Commercial Appeal."

Which schools are currently recruiting you the hardest? "Ole Miss, Nebraska offered me today. Auburn, MSU. I think that is about it."

Any offers? "Nebraska and I just got one from Tennessee. They both have offered me in the past week. Ole Miss, MSU, Auburn, Nebraska, and Tennessee have all offered me now."

Which schools have caught your eye? "Really, Ole Miss. I have been down there to visit a few times. I went to their Jr Day last weekend. They are showing me the most interest, and they make me feel the most at home."

Are you interested in anymore schools besides Ole Miss? "I want to go to Miami. That has always been a dream of mine to play for them. I will go anywhere though. I does not matter to me."

What did you learn about Ole Miss during their Jr Day that maybe you did not know from before? "Basically, I learned how to read college level defenses and what they will expect and want out of me."

What stood out the most about Ole Miss during your trip? "How excited their coaches are. They make you want to come there and play for them. Just how their attitude was about Ole Miss."

What are going to be some factors in your decision? "Really, will the school be near my family or not. I want to stay close to home. And what type of degree they have. Can I fall back on their degree after my football days?

Anthony carries a 2.3 GPA and scored an 18 on his latest ACT test.
