This could be Mississippi's deepest pool of talent at the running back position in decades, but if you are looking for the back with the most upside, most will point towards Cordera Eason.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Cordera Eason:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 1", 235, and I run a 4.4."

What do you bench, squat, and have you been measured in your vertical? "It has been since the 10th grade since I last maxed out. I was maxing 275 then. And my squat, I have never maxed out with my squat. My vertical, I have never had that done either."

Did you attend any camps or combines last year? "Only Ole Miss'."

Where are you headed this Spring and Summer? "I am going to a lot of camps. Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee. I am going to a lot of camps."

What makes you such a good running back? "My ability to be as quick as I am for a big guy. My agility allows me to run through you or around you. I can cut real hard for someone my size."

What are you working on to make yourself a complete player? "My footwork, most definitely my footwork."

How long have you been starting at Meridian? "Since 10th grade."

What did you rush for your sophomore season? "900 yards but I missed some games."

And last year? "I missed 5 games last year too. I was having a good year until I got hurt in the playoff game. That messed us up and we lost to Oak Grove. I had a good year besides those injuries. I think I rushed for 1,100 yards and 16 TD's on 108 carries."

What are your goals for your senior year? "I am just planning on helping my team with the State Championship, basically. We have a lot of unsaid business to take care of. If our class left here without a championship, man, that would be a crime. We just got to do it this year, got to do it."

Have you set any numbers you would like to personally achieve? "No sir. I do not set numbers anymore. I set one last year, and I got hurt. I am not setting up anymore. I am done with numbers."

Which schools are currently recruiting you the hardest? "Auburn, MSU, Ole Miss, Florida State, Oklahoma, and Miami."

Have you had a chance this year to visit some of the schools you are interested in? "No sir, I have not been to one yet, but I am going to Ole Miss right now. I am on my way up there right now (interview was conducted on 3/10)."

Is anyone accompanying you? "One of our coaches is taking me, Raashad Byrd and Derrick Davis up there for the weekend."

What is your interest in Ole Miss? "I like Ole Miss' new staff. They need a running back, and I am interested in going up there and help them turn the team around."

Who are some of the other schools you are interested in? "I pretty much like Ole Miss, Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, and Auburn. Basically, the same ones."

What attracts you to Texas? "They want me to fill in for Cedrick Benson."

What about Miami? "They have real good coaches. They have good running backs already there, so, you know. But, I could still go there and be a difference maker."

And Auburn? "They want us (Cordera Eason and Derrick Davis) to be another Cadillac and Ronnie Brown."

Do you plan to take anymore unofficial visits this Spring and Summer? "This is the only one for right now."

What is your academic status? "I have a 3.2 Core GPA and a 19 on the ACT."
